The Zone Golf Academy - Putting School
The Zone Golf Academy instructs using a comprehensive system that addresses all aspects of improving your putting performance.
The ZGA system was formed with insights and concepts developed by several instructors working with PGA touring Pros on putting and the mental game. These instructors include James Seickmann, Joe Parent, Bob Rotella, Craig Farnsworth, Stan Utley, Dave Stockton, Dave Pelz, and Lee Woodard.
And our library includes more than 30 books on putting and DVDs as well as 25+ putting aids/devices to provide feedback.
The Putting School has the following features:
- An evaluation to determine what needs to be improved.
- Analysis by applying the Science and Motion (SAM) Puttlab hardware/software system to your stroke.
- Your measurements and graphics are compared with Loren Roberts, Paul Azinger, and more.
- We then generate a ‘prescription’ for improvement.
- Specific mental game tools are provided as needed.
- A customized Practice Plan.
- A Putting Warmup Plan.
- A green reading clinic.
- A 100-page Putting Workbook.
- A checklist to safeguard against a relapse.
The key component is the state-of-the-art SAM Puttlab exactly like what Tiger, Ernie, and others have in their homes.
The K-Vest will soon be added to the Studio to measure the body movements in the stroke.
We also have a putting platform to precisely set a particular break and slope of your putt on a perfect putting surface.
As needed, we use a video database of professional strokes.
The discounted rates for this winter are $285 for 3-4 hours of work at the Academy.
News from the PGA Tour.
Zack Miller, a 27 year old rookie on the PGA Tour, stopped by our Performance Studio the evening before the Hope Classic. His putting had abandoned him, and he was even thinking about putting side-saddle (a la Sam Snead).
After working in our Putting lab and hearing some mental game strategy for putting, Zack proceeded to have average 23.5 putts (the average for the other professionals was 28.3) and 1.486 putts for GIRs (both stats ranked first among the other 127 Pros) over the first three rounds in the Hope. And it was quite exciting as he culminated a 64 rolling in a 50-foot putt on the 18th green to complete the tourney at T29 after making his first cut and a mediocre start.
So he went from “the worst” (as he called it) to first in a day using our Putting system.
